Health problems made Gerard Houllier had to undergo a treatment at the hospital last week. He also could not accompany his team Aston Villa in a match last week.

After a period of ‘quarantine’ for a week, Houllier’s condition is much better today. It is estimated that he is able to leave the hospital this week.

Aston Villa confirmed this in their official website and Houllier also expressed his thanks for the attention given to him.

“I am very touched by all the messages I received and the reactions of people from the world football community. It was wonderful,” said Houllier.

“I am very grateful to Aston Villa fans for their concern and encouragement. There are good intentions from all this and I really appreciate it,” he said.
