Real Betis Back to La Liga

Real BetisReal Betis has finally got back to the La Liga. After relegated in the 2009 season, Betis now successfully promoted after their rivals Celta Vigo could only draw 1-1 against Salamanca.

Meanwhile, Betis made their position at the top of the standings stronger after beating Tenerife 3-1. Pepe Mel’s team has 76 points. Although the Segunda Division still leaves four matches to play, but the club which won the La Liga in 1935, had already booked an automatic ticket to the La Liga.

Only the two top teams from the Segunda Division which gets automatic promotion to La Liga. While four other teams will compete for promotion spot through the play-offs.

Betis, who played in the 2005/06 Champions League almost promoted last season. However, the 1977 and 2005 Copa del Rey champions lost  in the play-offs against Levante.

Betis made a surprise when recruiting Brazilian player Denilson which made him the world’s most expensive player in 1998. However, Denilson failed to lift the performance of Betis.
