FC Utrecht is believed to soon terminate the contract of their coach Ton du Chatinier and had prepare Erwin Koeman as his replacement.

Utrecht wanted to refresh their squad for next season after ending the season in the ninth position in the final standings of the Dutch Eredivisie. They failed to repeat their success to qualify for the Europa League so Du Chatinier position will be reviewed by the club management.

“Basically I am open to all offers,” said Koeman to Voetbal International.

“There are many barriers that I experienced last year. I love my life right now, but now it’s time to coach again. I want to handle a team.”

Koeman lasy coached the Hungarian national team before he was sacked late last year. Besides Ronald Koeman’s brother, Utrecht are also said to be eyeing Steve McClaren. While the choice of appointing Co Adriaanse will not happen because his salary request is considered too high.
