Thailand Appoints Winfried Schaefer As Coach
Thailand football federation (FAT) officially announced Winfried Schafer as coach to replace Bryan Robson, and sign him for three years.
FAT president Worawi Makudi revealed, the two sides have made an agreements. Only, Worawi was reluctant to disclose the value of the contract received by Schaefer.
“He’s probably the best candidate of foreign coach for our national team. We hope he can deliver success with the national team, “said Worawi, according to the ASEAN Football Federation website.
Meanwhile, Schaefer said, he wanted to form a strong foundation for Thai football. Coaching young players will become the main focus of the coach who won the African Cup in 2002 with Cameroon.
“I came here to initiate a new development to strengthen Thailand’s football structures. Generate a lot of young players is an important thing as I did for years in Germany, “said Schaefer.
