Diego Could Stay in Germany
According to Sport Bild, Wolfsburg playmaker and former Werder Bremen midfielder Diego could stay playing in German football although he most likely would head back home to Brazil.
Diego fell out with coach Felix Magath. They are now irreconcilable after he walked out of the team hotel shortly before the club’s final game of the season against Hoffenheim, for which he received a fine of €500,000.
“Perhaps I will remain in the Bundesliga. I have not ruled that out. However, until now no club from Germany has spoken to me,” he said.
Diego, joined Wolfsburg from Italian giants Juventus last summer, has been linked with a return to Brazil in recent times, with both his former club Santos and Botafogo interested.
“We will have to assess things from both a financial and professional point of view,” he told Lancenet. “I will certainly listen to the Brazilian clubs with affection.”
