Inter Also Interested in River Plate’s Erik Lamela
According to reports, Inter Milan are currently attracted to River Plate star Erik Lamela, and after River’s surprising relegation, they are now ready to prepare a bid for the playmaker.
Napoli have been monitoringthe 19-year-old, and were reported to have offered a €15 million bid for the player previously, whilst Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Roma have both also been linked with the starlet.
Inter are looking to revamp their squad after relinquishing their Champions League and Scudetto titles in 2010-11, and Tuttosport reports that both new coach Gian Piero Gasperini and president Massimo Moratti are keen to invest in youth, with the South American of major interest.
“The time of bombastic markets is long gone. Now we must work with extreme caution. [We] must be right and spend [money] on young people in whom we can invest,” the club chief stated.
The Milanese outfit have also been associated with a move for Lamela’s team-mate, 18-year-old midfielder Manuel Lanzini.
