Denilson: Fabregas Will Stay With Arsenal

Cesc Fabregas Arsenal stayDenilson believes Cesc Fabregas will remain at Arsenal, despite continued speculation surrounding his future.

Fabregas has been constantly linked with a move to Barcelona, and reports have suggested that the two clubs are in talks over the transfer but problems remain over a fee for the Spanish international.

The Gunners value their captain at €45 million but Barca reportedly remain reluctant to meet the figure.

Denilson, who is on loan at Sao Paulo, told Sky Sports News: “It’s very important because the fans, the staff at Arsenal, everyone loves Cesc and I think he’s going to stay.”

The Brazilian is spending this season on loan at former club Sao Paulo to be closer to his three-year old daughter.

He admits he already misses Arsenal, who he joined from Sao Paulo in 2006, and believes they still have a lot of appeal to players because of manager Arsene Wenger.

The midfielder added: “He’s not just a coach, he’s like a dad. It’s brilliant for me and for the players because he’s helped the players.

“Everyone knows Arsene Wenger is a top man and a top manager.”

The French boss has come under criticism for the lack of silverware at the club over the last few years, and many supporters believe it is down to their lack of activity in the transfer market.

However, Denilson has reiterated that Wenger does not need to take on big-spending ways to rival the rest of the top four.

Denilson added: “We just need to play to show. This season I’m sure 100 per cent they can win the trophies.

“If you see Manchester [United], Chelsea buying many players, Manchester City as well, they pay much money for the players but Arsenal don’t need that.”

Despite leaving the club on loan, the 23-year-old says he hopes to return to Arsenal in the future.

He said: “I miss London, I miss Arsenal.

“I lived there for five years, it’s a long time for me. But I think next season I’ll be back.”
