Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Mario Gotze, is flattered to hear that he has the same quality with Lionel Messi. However, he said that he is not as good as the Barcelona star.

Earlier, German football legend Franz Beckenbauer, assess the quality of Gotze to have the same natural talent with Messi. Beckenbauer admitted to be impressed with Gotze’s individual ability, where he is able to go through his opponents with ease.

“I’m certainly not at the same level as Lionel Messi. It is amazing to see what he had accomplished. He is one of my idol and I definitely feel flattered when someone like Franz Beckenbauer compare me with Messi,” said Gotze.

Gotze’s name skyrocketed since last season. Although he is only 19 years old, he was able to become a  main player and brought his club Dortmund Bundesliga to become champions. Last season, Gotze played in 33 games with a record of six goals and 15 assists. In this season’s transfer market, a series of big clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in buying Gotze. However, he admitted that he does not want to leave the Bundesliga.

“I know some players who have chosen to move abroad. It is mot always easy for them (to adapt). To me, a move now is too fast,” said Gotze.
