According to a report by Ole, Argentina new coach Alejandro Sabella already have great plans for the team, one of them is by making Lionel Messi captain of the team.

Sabella believes that Messi has enough maturity, commitment, and character so that he intends to move the captain’s armband from Javier Mascherano’s arm to Messi’s.

This is not the first that Messi is reported to become captain of Argentina. Previous coach, Diego Maradona also gave Messi the same role when Argentina faced Greece in the World Cup in South Africa.

Sabella had even discussed the plan in a meeting with Messi and Mascherano in Catalonia some time ago. Another thing being discussed in the meeting was Sabella’s idea to solve the problem of the poor performance of Argentina in the Copa America this year.

Sabella is now in Madrid to meet Angel di Maria, Fernando Gago and Gonzalo Higuain, before the watching the Spanish Super Cup match between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
