Dominic Adiyiah Regrets Joining AC Milan

Dominic AdiyiahThe 2009 Ghana Under-20 goal scoring revelation Dominic Adiyiah looks back with regret after having joined Italian giants AC Milan following the youth championship.

The 21-year-old has told a local network in Ghana, TV 3, that now is the time to right that wrong by bettering himself before thinking of another big move.

The slippery marksman bagged eight goals in the U20 competition in Egypt two years ago to help Ghana lift the trophy for the first time alongside two individual awards as top scorer and best player.

With hindsight, Adiyiah is convinced he should not have accepted the Rossoneri deal, but was moved by the prestige attached to going to San Siro.

“For me I must say it was a big mistake,” he admitted. “But as a youngster when a big team like Milan needs you, [you] cannot say no.”

Adiyiah has since failed to find his feet at club level, forcing him to go on loan spells with Reggina and Partizan Belgrade. He is currently attached to Turkish lower division side Karyisaka, where he hopes to rekindle his career and find his form – a reason why he opted for a loan from the Diavolo.

“However, when you get there and there is no room for you, that is when you have to decide, ‘I need to go somewhere and do the right thing and come back’,” he stated.
