2011-12 UEFA Champions League Draw

AC Milan meet Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League in one of the top European clashes of the group stages. Belarus representatives BATE Borisov and Czech debutants Victoria Plzen will square off against that illustrious pair in Group H.

Group A meanwhile promises to be 2011′s ‘Group of Death’. Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City will be in for a tough test as they face Bayern Munich, Villarreal and Napoli.

Last season’s beaten finalists Manchester United face Portuguese side Benfica in Group C, as well as Basel and Romanians Otelul Galati, while Real Madrid renew old European rivalries with Ajax, and also face games against Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia.

Elsewhere Chelsea meet Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen and Genk in Group E, while Arsenal play Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Olympiakos in Group F.

Europa League winners Porto face long trips in Group G to Shakhtar Donetsk, Zenit and APOEL. Inter, in Group B, face French champions Lille, CSKA Moscow and Trabzonspor, who replaced Fenerbahce as Turkey’s representatives.

The 2011-12 Uefa Champions League group stage commences on September 13-14 and ties will be played on September 27-28, October 18-19, November 1-2, November 22-23 before finishing on December 6-7.

The winners and runners-up of each group will qualify for the round of 16 while the third placed teams will play in the second stage of the Europa League.
