PSV Eindhoven Release Cassio Ramos

Cassio RamosPSV Eindhoven have confirmed that they have released goalkeeper Cassio Ramos, who will now return to Brazil.

The 24-year-old moved to the Eredivisie outfit back in 2007, signing from Gremio after impressing for his nation’s under-20 team.

Despite showing promise, he only made three appearances for the Philips Stadion side as he found it increasingly difficult to break into the side.

During the second half of 2008-09, Ramos spent six months on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, making 13 appearances while gaining vital first-team experience.

With Andreas Isaksson a regular between the sticks for Fred Rutten’s team, the South American has been deemed surplus to requirements, and he insists he is now looking forward to the next chapter of his career.

“I hope to learn as much in Brazil as I have learned here at PSV. Both personally and professionally, I have really improved,” he told PSV TV.

“The people will always have my respect and I will always remember PSV. Thank you so much to everyone.”

Ramos leaves Europe to fly back to Brazil on Wednesday, but did not stipulate if he had already signed with a club in his homeland.
