Alex Ferguson Does Not Want Danny Welbeck to Play for England U-21
England U-21 manager, Stuart Pearce is made confused by the striker crisis his team is experiencing. He also plans to re-call Danny Welbeck into the squad for Euro U-21 qualifiers in Norway.
Pearce now only has one fit striker after Nathan Delfouneso and Martyn Waghorn were both injured in the game against Iceland. He now plans to play Welbeck for the away games in Oslo.
However, Pearce’s desire was immediately rejected by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Ferige is apparently worried that his players will get too tired after joining the England senior national team against Montenegro.
Pearce said that he understands the situation but had to call Welbeck because he is the only striker in the squad. Pearce’s boys now tops the standings after two games in Group 8. They will face Norway after the match against Iceland.
