Mata’s Support To Torres

With Chelsea, Fernando Torres had already started to score goals this season, scoring two goals in the league. However, with the Spanish national team, he remains difficult to score. Against Czech Republic in the Euro qualifiers, Torres once again failed to score. In the other hand his Chelsea team mate, Juan Mata managed to score a goal.

Medias in Spain criticized his poor performance. Torres’ last goal was on September 3, 2010, when he scored two goals against Liechtenstein as La Furia Roja won 4-0. Torres had always failed to score ever since.

Meanwhile, the last goal he scored in a non-competitive match was when Spain defeated the United States on June 4, 2011. Torres again failed to score in the following three friendlies.

Nevertheless, Juan Mata still provides support to Torres. According to him, Torres is in his best condition and has a big role in Spain despite not scoring goals.

“I worked with Torres every day. He has great motivation to score goals with Chelsea and Spain. That’s why he always plays well. I’m sure he’ll do it every time. I think a goal is a matter of time, as he had done with Chelsea some time ago,” Said Mata.
