Barcelona Attacker Pedro Injured for Two Weeks
Barcelona and Pedro got more than what they bargained for in the 1-0 win over Granada as an ankle injury will keep the forward out of action for at least two weeks, the club said via a statement.
The Spain international appeared to twist his ankle after falling awkwardly in the second half of the match which was won thanks to Xavi’s 33rd minute free-kick.
Fears of a break have been allayed, though, as post-match scans have revealed damaged tendons.
A note on the club’s official website confirmed the extent of Pedro’s injury.
“The club’s medical services’ first examinations revealed that he [Pedro] has not suffered a broken bone, but has damaged the tendons in his left ankle and is expected to be out for between 10 and 16 days.”
Pedro is now likely to miss games against Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League, and Hospitalet in the Copa del Rey next month.? - Salvatore Landolina /goal
