PSV have completed the signing of striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The striker won three Eredivisie titles in a five-year spell at the club until his move to Celtic in 2006.

The 32-year-old has been acquired to provide experienced backup to the likes of Ola Toivonen and Tim Matavz in the Dutch giants» attack, while also helping nurture young talents such as Ruben Bentancourt and Jurgen Locadia.

Hesselink enjoyed a trophy-laden first spell at PSV between 2001 and 2006, lifting three Eredivisie titles and earning international recognition with the Netherlands.

Eindhoven are currently second in the Dutch league.
