Napoli-Juventus Match Cancelled Due to Flooding

Serie A game between Napoli against Juventus which is supposed to be played on Sunday evening at the Stadio San Paolo has been cancelled.

On Sunday morning the decision was made after an emergency meeting at the Prefecture of Naples with the Protezione Civile, a national body which deals with exceptional events in Italy.

The safety of the supporters could not be guaranteed as several areas around the stadium are currently flooded.

The persistent heavy rain all over Italy had already claimed the lunchtime fixture between Genoa and Inter, but the six remaining Serie A matches should go ahead as planned.

Juventus are currently number one in the Serie A standings, with 19 points from nine games, while Napoli are in sixth position, with fourteen points.
