Roberto Mancini: Mario Balotelli Can Not be Trusted
Roberto Mancini said he could not trust Mario Balotelli, following a shameful red card in the match against Liverpool at Anfield.
Balotelli entered as a substitute. He played for 18 minutes, until the referee finally pulled out a red card for him.
It was the third red card for Balotelli in his 16 moth career as a player of Manchester City.
Mancini said that Balotelli City wasted the opportunity to win the match at Anfield, and widen the difference in numbers with Manchester United in the standings.
“Maybe it would be better if I let Balotelli on the bench, and put on another striker at the time,” Mancini regreted.
Aagainst Liverpool, City still had Edin Dzeko on the bench. Mancini brought Balotelli in because he felt the striker could perform better and score goals.
“If I brought Dzeko on, maybe City will play with eleven players until the last whistle, and won the match,” Mancini continued.
According to Mancini, is important for Mario Balotelli to maintain an attitude and not be provoked by opponents. Balotelli should also know that he is an important player on the team.
“I’ve said it many times, but he still does not understand, and make the same mistakes,” complained Mancini.
Defender, according to Mancini, will always make mistakes and get yellow cards. Strikers like Balotelli, he continued, should not get many yellow cards.
