Martin Skrtel admitted the recovery of Steven Gerrard‘s lifts the moral condition of Liverpool as a whole.

The Slovakian defender praised Gerrard, who managed to score one goal against Newcastle United at the end of 2011.

“Stevie is a special player. He has been absent for some time but he can score a goal and showed how important he is to Liverpool,” said Skrtle to Liverpoolfc.tv.

“He has made all the players believe in themselves. We still have a lot of matches to be played, in January, and Gerrard’s return meant a lot to us. We are all happy to see him play again.”
