Thiago Silva Wins Samba D’Oro

Thiago Silva Samba D'OroThiago Silva has been named winner of the Samba d’Oro 2011 award .

The award was given by Sambafoot to the best Brazilian player who competes in Europe. Silva was named the best player thanks to his great performance to help AC Milan win the Italian Serie A last season.

Barcelona defender Dani Alves, came in second, and followed by FC Porto striker, Hulk, in third.

Samba d’Oro had been awarded since 2008 and produced some winners, such as Kaka, Luis Fabiano, and Maicon.
