Olympique Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas stated that midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is not leaving Stade Gerland.

Gourcuff had not shown maximum performance as expected like when he played with Bordeaux, and it is believed that the club management will sell the player on the transfer market this January.

“Gourcuff is a good player. We might have payed a little too much in the wrong time. But at the time he often suffers from injuries, ” said Aulas, according to Radio Monte Carlo.

“You’ll see it in June, in Ukraine, because he will join the French national team, and return to find his best play.”

“Contrary to what I read, he will not leave the club in the winter transfer market.”
