Denies Wanting Demba Ba, Harry Redknapp is Interested in Gary Cahill

Harry RedknappTottenham Hotspur is said to be wanting to get Demba Ba from Newcastle United to strengthen their front line in order to compete for the Premier League title .

However, Harry Redknapp immediately denied he is interested with the Senegal striker. According to him, the departure of Ba to follow this month’s African Cup makes it difficult for other clubs to get him.

“Demba Ba did extraordinary things throughout the season. All of a sudden people notice it. He could be in another club at the beginning of this season but Alan Pardew is able to keep him and obtain satisfying results,” he explained to the media.

“Newcastle will want to keep him and he will be unavailable for around a month to compete in the African Nations Cup, it makes other clubs difficult to get him. I do not think we will try to bring him in.”

“I am more interested in bringing Garry Cahill, there is no way I can say that I’m not interested in him. But I do not know the latest situation regarding Cahill, but Chelsea seemed more likely to get him. They have a larger salary structure and that is one advantage they have.”
