Everton‘s Tim Cahill urges the squad to maintain their focus after their victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last week.

The Australian midfielder asks his colleagues not too look too far, and focus on every game.

“We must focus on every game in the future. We did not play with the best performance against Wolves, but as long as we score points in the next few games, it does not matter,” said Cahill.

“But we have to do it individually. I do not think we could see three or four games in the future, what we have to do is focus on the closest match. I know this is frustrating for fans, but for players, all we want is to win games. ”

“We must continue to fight and ensure that we always are courageous to face difficulties, regardless of its form. We have a small squad and we do not have much choice. These players play every week and nothing has changed. We will continue to fight until the end. “

Leighton Baines said that he would never change costumes and become a player of rivals, Liverpool. The reason, according to Baines, that it is taboo.

Baines made Everton fans pleased with the statement. Although eager to move to the next level and join a larger team, Baines confirmed that he will not want to move to Liverpool.

“I was made ??aware of this, but as far as I know, it’s not an option. When you come from Liverpool, it is between Liverpool or Everton, one and not the other,” said Baines, according to The Mirror.

Even so Baines did not dismiss that his family are fanatical Liverpool fans. “My family never stopped to support the Reds, though I joined Everton. They still wanted Liverpool to win. The only one who crossed (supports Everton) was only my father, and he must strive for it,” he admits.

The reason is that Fergie was made worried for 83 minutes of the match.

Luckily, the Red Devils have Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez who scored ??the winning goal in the 83rd minute. Fergie did not hesitate to praise Hernandez as the hero of his team’s victory .

“We never doubted Hernandez’s capability. He’s a hard worker. He comes first and goes home last at the training session,” said Fergie.

Not only Hernandez, Fergie also gave special credit to all players who have fought for three points.

“The players look amazing in this game (against Everton). At the first half we found difficulty. However, the boys could get the winning goal at the end of the game,” Fergie added.

But what makes it even worse is that influential midfielder, Mikel Arteta, was injured and is likely to be sidelined for the rest of this season.

Arteta was injured after colliding with Sebastian Larsson. He also must be replaced before the game ended.

Everton refused to panic in dealing with this situation, but also can not ensure the condition of Arteta.

“I still do not know, I just saw him leave the field,” said coach David Moye.

“It seems that he suffered a hamstring injury, but I have not spoken with the medical team to listen to their opinions,” he said.

“It is a major blow for us because we need creativity and I know if we can not play him, we will find it hard to play our game.”

Chelsea led first through a penalty scored by Didier Drogba at the end of the first half, the Blues were forced to share points after a header from Jermaine Beckford passed through goalkeeper Petr Cech. This is the fourth consecutive time Chelsea failed to gain a victory.

With the addition of a point, Chelesa failed to overtake Manchester United from the top of the standings.

Roberto Di Matteo’s West Bromwich Albion side secured their first win at Everton in 31 years, as they hammered Everton 4-1 at Goodison Park.

Paul Scharner and Chris Brunt gave West Brom a two goal lead before Tim Cahill headed home before half-time to give Everton hope. However two late goals from Somen Tchoyi and Youssuf Mulumbu ensured the Baggies would bounce back to the Midlands with a huge three points.

Everton started the game the brighter of the two sides, with the returning Victor Anichebe looking very dangerous down Everton’s right-hand side.

Anichebe, making his first apperarance of the season, was the first Toffee’s player to test Baggies goalkeeper Scott Carson on eight minutes. The powerful youngster cut in from the right-hand side and attempted to curl the ball past Carson and into the far corner, but the West Brom number one did well to tip the ball away.

David Moyes’ side seemed the most likely scorers, beating the Baggies to every ball and looking the more confident outfit, however anything can happen in the Premier League, and West Brom highlighted the leagues unpredictability by hitting Everton with a sucker punch after fifteen minutes.

Brunt whipped in a fantastic corner which was met by Scharner, who climbed highest to hammer home a header from six yards out, to stun Goodison Park into silence.

Everton did there level best to get an immediate response, with both Leighton Baines and Mikel Arteta coming close with free-kicks, the Spaniard bringing a good save out of Carson.

Just as the home side looked like they were regaining the dominance they had in the opening quarter hour, the Baggies took it upon themselves to shock the Everton faithful once again.

Cahill dragged Youssuf Mulumbu to the ground, giving Brunt another opportunity to show his set-piece expertise, and the Northern Irishman didn’t disappoint.

Despite the free-kick being thirty yards from Tim Howard’s net; Brunt stepped up and smashed an unstoppable effort which flew into the top corner giving the goalkeeper absolutely no chance, and his side a two-goal cushion.

Roberto Di Matteo’s team were now in cruise control, to the frustration of the Everton faithful who were voicing their feelings to the players as the half-time whistle approached.

With 42 minutes on the clock, an Everton side which had looked clueless since Brunt netted West Brom’s second, won a corner on the left-hand side. Baines floated in a delivery towards the penalty spot, and in typical fashion found the head of Cahill. The Aussie leapt above the West Brom defence to plant a fantastic header back across goal and into the far corner, giving his side a route back into the game just before the break.

The second half began as expected, with Everton coming out and trying to dominate from the offset. Just like the first half though, Everton’s final ball simply wasn’t good enough, and for all their possession, their chance creation was still minimal, thanks to a stern performance from a stubborn Baggies defence.

David Moyes decided enough was enough, and made a double change on 55 minutes, bringing on Louis Saha and Jermaine Beckford for the disappointing Yakubu Ayegbeni and Johnny Heitinga.

The Scotsman’s attacking mentality was almost rewarded within a minute, when Beckford was played through on goal, but Carson made himself big and prevented Beckford from slipping the ball underneath him by parrying the ball clear.

The home side’s afternoon went from bad to worse on the hour mark when Mikel Arteta was sent off for stamping on Gonzalo Jara. The Everton skipper retaliated angrily to a rash challenge from Jara, and proceeded to stamp not once, but twice on the West Brom player. Complete idiocy from the Spaniard, and referee Lee Mason made the correct decision to dismiss the midfielder.

Despite being down to ten men, Everton continued to throw men forward in search of an equaliser, with Beckford missing numerous chances, and the mood of the fans was slowly deflating into one of acceptance that this wasn’t going to be their day.

These thought were confirmed with fifteen minutes remaining, when substitute Somen Tchoyi sealed the game for the Midlands side with a superb solo effort.

The Cameroon international galloped down the left wing before cutting inside onto his right foot and curling an inch perfect shot into the far corner beyond the desperate reach of Howard.

West Brom weren’t finished either as Mulumbu made it four late on with a fantastic team goal.

Tchoyi ran riot once again down the left hand side before playing the ball into the path of Mulumbu, Mulumbu then played a delightful one two with James Morrison before chipping the ball over Howard via the chest of Sylvain Distin.

Mulumbu was later sent off for a second bookable offence but his dismissal didn’t do much to take the gloss of what was a fabulous performance from West Brom.

The final whistle was met with boo’s from some sections of Goodison Park, as Roberto Di Matteo secured West Brom’s first win at Everton since 1979. (goal)

Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to draw 1-1 with Everton inside White Hart Lane as the Toffees continue their resurgence from a dreadful start to the season.

Everton opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick from Leighton Baines from just outside the box on the 16th minute mark. Minutes later Spurs hit back through a Rafael Van der Vaart tap-in as both sides went into the break level. And that is the way it stayed, with Spurs failing to break down a well marshalled Everton back-line despite their second-half domination.
