The former Spain Under-21 attacker had an inconsistent stint at the Andalusian club since graduating from the youth team in 2006. He spent time on loan at Tenerife due to first team opportunities being thin on the ground at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

The 24-year-old is delighted with the move and is looking forward to getting started with his new team.

“I chose Mallorca due to many factors. I came to play as much as possible, to feel important and to have continuity,” he told the club’s official website.

“Since [director of football] Lorenzo Serra Ferrer and the club have been in contact with my agent, they have convinced me about the project [in] the short and medium term.

“Humility is very important in a locker room and in a group, and [that] objectives are achieved. I’m happy to be here, [it is] a great sports project and a great city. We hope to achieve our objectives,” he concluded.

Alfaro joins recent additions Gianni Zuiverloon and Tomer Hemed to Michael Laudrup’s squad.

“We play to win,” Camara explained to the media. “We can definitely qualify [on Thursday] and go to Karpaty to play a game that will not count. It is important to our fans. There is a certain momentum. As the coach tries to teach us, we must hate losing. We know that the balance is fragile, that we must constantly be questioned.”

With heavy snowfall in France, conditions will be difficult, but Camara is not concerned.

“There is currently a blower and a tarp to protect the field,” he said. “The conditions are the same for both teams. We will adapt.”

Speculation about Fabiano’s transfer to AC Milan continued to spread in recent weeks. I Rossoneri‘s vice-president Adriano Galliani hope the players can play in the San Siro.

Unfortunately, the Serie A giants should forget about getting services of Fabiano. The former Porto star stated his desire to stay with Sevilla and reject the prospect of moving to Milan.

“There will be time to think about everything. The president knows my desires,” Fabiano said according to skysports.

“I spoke with him and the sporting director and told them I would like to stay at Sevilla.

“I know there has been talk about me wanting to play for another club, but I told the president that this was not true. I never said anything like this.”

Copa Del Rey: Sevilla 0-1 Barcelona Highlights

Barcelona are having  great obstacles in their quest to maintain their defence of the Copa del Rey, after loosing to Sevilla in the first leg.

Both sides struggled to create chances in the early stages, and it was Jose Manuel Pinto who was tested first, when he had to dive at full stretch to keep Romaric’s free-kick out. Minutes later, Messi made Palop do the same, after unleashing from just outside the box following a trademark dribble.

Just past the half-hour, there was a contentious decision when Diego Capel’s goal was ruled out for offside. At first glance it seemed like an obvious decision, but replays indicated that the ball may well have come off Gabriel Milito’s foot on the way to the Sevilla winger.

Both sides made a change at half-time, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic replacing Pedro, while Renato came on for the injured Jesus Navas. It was the Brazilian who had the first chance of the second half, when he shot straight at Pinto after being found in the box by Abdoulay Konko.

Sevilla looked the better side in the second period, and they duly took the lead on the hour mark. Diego Perotti burst down the left and squared the ball, which fell to Capel having touched Renato on the way, and the winger made no mistake in slotting past Pinto.

However, they would soon have their equaliser, as Rafael Marquez played an incredible ball over the top of the entire Sevilla side to find Ibrahimovic, who did well to round Palop and find the back of the net.

The Camp Nou erupted in celebration, but before they had time to sit down again, Sevilla had a penalty after Dymytro Chygrynskiy pulled Capel down in the box. Alvaro Negredo, who had only just come on, made no mistake, slotting the ball into the bottom right hand corner.

Ultimately, the hosts could not find an equalizer, and they now have it all to do at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for the second leg.
